Human K-ras 7 mutations test kit
K-ras (K-ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog) is one of signal transduction downstream proteins intracellular. It can regulate the cell growth pathway and inhibit tumor cell proliferation, while it can lead to signal disorder intracellular and cancerization with the proliferation out of control when there is a mutation.
This kit can detect 7 mutations on 12&13 condon of exon 2 on K-ras(GGT>GAT、GGT>GCT、GGT>GTT、GGT>AGT、GGT>CGT、GGT>TGT、GGC>GAC), which could help clinician in screening colorectal cancer patients that may benefit from cetuximab and panitumumab. It could also help clinician to screen NSCLC patients may benefit from EGFR-TKIs like gefitinib, erlotinib and icotinib etc.
Clinical studies show that outcomes of target therapy are usually associated to the status of gene on the target signal pathway.
NCCN NSCLC clinical practice guideline suggests in 2016 that no molecular target therapy with gefitinib or erlotinib etc. is recomended when there is a mutation on K-ras, NCCN colorectal cancer clinical practice guideline suggests that all metastatic colorectal cancer patients should analyze K-ras status; only patients with K-ras wild type are recommended to take EGFR inhibitors like cetuximab or panitumumab (monotherapy or combination therapy).
